VATSIM Democratic Republic of Congo is proud to bring the wonderful country of D.R.C. (formerly Zaire) to the VATSIM Network. Our country is one of the largest in Africa. We also include ATC services in the country of Congo. VATDRC gives pilots the opportunity to have ATC in this remote and beautiful part of the world with never ending challenges. We invite everyone to come and enjoy the Congolese experience with us NOTAMEffective 25 September 2008 at 0001Z, all of the African airspace will become RVSM. VATCAF will be implementing the change on September 25th will full training and compliance from all vACC's completed no later than 1 November 2008. Here are the most drastic changes: Non-RVSM equipped aircraft will no longer be allowed in RVSM airspace between FL290 and FL410 after September 25th. All Westbound traffic within RVSM airspace above FL280 and below FL430 will fly at EVEN flight levels. Non-RVSM aircraft capable of operating above FL410 with be allowed to transition through RVSM airspace but not level off. Separation in RVSM airspace will now be 1000 feet.
